What is Social Justice?
Social Justice is how we as Christian Disciples in Mission are called to live out the Gospel in a broken and suffering world. Because we are created in the image and likeness of God, we are called to recognize the dignity of each human person and then reach out to build relationships and systems based on the ideals of love and justice. Our commitment to the Catholic social mission must be rooted in and strengthened by our spiritual lives. (PRAY). We are called to engage in living the social teachings of the Church through charitable acts and activities which advocate for the poor, the powerless and all those who face discrimination. (ENCOUNTER) Working together, strengthened by Christ, our efforts can transform not only our own hearts, but the lives of others, and the social, economic and political world at large. (TRANSFORM)
