NEWS + UPDATES
The first word that God speaks in Sacred Scripture is “Fiat” – let there be – and thus begins the story of salvation history. Last semester we focused on God’s movement through creation within the Old Testament. This semester we will continue to delve into our “Fiat” theme but will focus on characters from the New Testament this time around. Sometimes it can be hard to make the connections between the Old and New Testament but with our theme of “Fiat” carrying us through we will continue to delve into these biblical characters as examples of people who were also once on the same pilgrimage that we are. Much like the Old Testament figures did for us last semester, the people of the New Testament will guide us as we grow in relationship with God, the EDGE Community, and our Catholic Faith this Spring semester.

ALL ABOUT EDGE
Within the context of faith, middle school youth are moving from a child-like spirituality to one that will hopefully reach its pinnacle, through the work of EDGE, into an adult faith commitment to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Community.
The name “EDGE” recognizes that middle school youth are on the EDGE in their life, and if we as a church don’t do something about it, they’re going to fall off the EDGE and we are never ever going to see them again. But, at the same time, we as a church are going to give them the EDGE they need in life: Jesus Christ, the Sacraments, Sacred Scripture, the Teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, and a Catholic Community to love, nurture and challenge them. EDGE nights are held Mondays from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in Fenlon Hospitality Center.
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: Help serve dinner to the families in downtown Phoenix OR work with youth on homework, literacy and fun! Families are encouraged to serve together & all participants meet at the facility. Monthly on Wednesdays from 4 – 6:30 p.m. Sign up here!
FREDGE (Friday Night EDGE): Fellowship & fun with your EDGE community, aiming at building holy friendships. Monthly on Fridays, 7-9 p.m. See Fall Schedule for location details.
