Due to current national health circumstances we have taken EDGE online. We are in a continuous process of developing our EDGE program into one that can best facilitate the needs of our middle school youth from a distance.

This semester at EDGE we will be diving into the Sacraments. A Sacrament is a sacred and visible sign of an inward grace instituted by Jesus to give us grace. The Church has given us seven formal sacraments, which help us live more grace filled lives. We can also live sacramental lives beyond the reception of these formal sacraments by inviting God to enter in whenever we remember. In a time of social distancing, remaining close to the sacramentality of our faith is so crucial. As we dive deeper into the sacraments this semester, we invite you to join us as we reimagine together.

EDGE is Catholic Youth Ministry for 6th, 7th, & 8th graders, held Mondays from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Zoom until we enter a phase where it is safe to gather in Fenlon Hospitality Center. All middle school youth are welcome! Additional opportunities are explained below to help bolster friendships within EDGE and provide a fun, safe environment for youth to live and grow in their Catholic Community of St. Patrick.

Within the context of faith, middle school youth are moving from a child-like spirituality to one that will hopefully reach its pinnacle, through the work of EDGE, into an adult faith commitment to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Community.

The name “EDGE” recognizes that middle school youth are on the EDGE in their life, and if we as a church don’t do something about it, they’re going to fall off the EDGE and we are never ever going to see them again. But, at the same time, we as a church are going to give them the EDGE they need in life: Jesus Christ, the Sacraments, Sacred Scripture, the Teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, and a Catholic Community to love, nurture and challenge them. EDGE nights are held Mondays from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in Fenlon Hospitality Center.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES ARE POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: Help serve dinner to the families in downtown Phoenix OR work with youth on homework, literacy and fun! Families are encouraged to serve together & all participants meet at the facility. Monthly on Wednesdays from 4 – 6:30 p.m. Sign up here!
