Forming Young Hearts for Christ

Faith formation is catechesis (teaching the faith) which aims to deepen people’s contact with Jesus Christ via educational and enrichment opportunities. Designed to touch the intellect as well as the heart, these programs help people live and experience a more Christ-centered life. All programs are deeply rooted in Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We are committed to providing the very best in Faith Formation for your children in partnership with your family. We offer a variety of programming options to meet the diverse needs of our families. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our many programs. We look forward to getting to know you and your family.

Young Disciples

We cannot wait to be together again when it is safe for us to gather in person. We invite all Families to enjoy SPKids on demand to break open the Sunday Gospel.

Young Disciples welcomes our preschool children, age 3-5 during the 8:00 AM & 10:30 AM Sunday Mass to explore the Gospel through storytelling, song, dance, puppetry, craft and games. Preschoolers spend time with caring adults in an enriching, age appropriate environment that furthers their understanding of God, and God’s immense love for them. This program is offered during the school year, from August to May. Registration begins in August and remains on-going throughout the year. There is $25 donation per family, requested to defray the cost of supplies. We invite all parents to serve in the classroom to experience it first-hand!

Caring Adults and Teens, we are always looking for an extra set of hands for Young Disciples. Whether you like to minister as a catechist, station leader, or extra set of hands, your gifts will be well appreciated! Please contact Sharon Fabyanic at sfabyanic(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)stpatcc.org to find out how you can get more involved. We would love to have you!

Family Faith Formation

In our family faith formation study program, families are equipped with materials to pass on the catechism of our faith at home. Each child  begins with a workbook that will help families grow together in the richness of church teaching. Then families are given additional resources throughout the year to enhance learning throughout the liturgical seasons.

Families are not alone in this journey. This is unique moment in time for us to come together and grow in spirituality at home. Families will be offered a variety of materials, hands on materials in our family launch pads, on demand videos, pod casts, zoom gatherings and more.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)

While we are not able to meet together in person, we invite families to break open the Sunday Gospel through our SPKids on demand video.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a continuation of the Mass for children Age 4 through Grade 4.

All children are welcome to attend Children’s Liturgy of the Word at all Mass times throughout the school year. Adult Leaders create an atmosphere that allows God’s Word to take root and live in the hearts of the children. Using the Sunday Readings and materials provided, adult leaders present an interactive homily with the children at every weekend Mass.

Schedule

Every weekend mass. Children are welcomed to the front of the church and dismissed by the presiding priest. Children return to their parents during the Offertory.
