Dear Friends,

The month of May has traditionally been a time when our children receive the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist here at St. Patrick. The children have been preparing to receive these two sacraments through formation, guided by their parents and families, and our staff and parishioners. Our Diocese offers these two sacraments in the 3rd grade. 

The two dates for these Masses are Saturday, May 3, and Friday, May 9. We welcome Fr. Jess Ty, the Pastor of Our Lady of Joy in Carefree, and the head of our Deanery (parishes in this area), to represent the Bishop at these two Masses. We congratulate all the children on receiving these sacraments.

This coming Friday, our GET ON THE BUS ministry will be welcoming families to the parish to enjoy breakfast and take buses to see their mothers or family members at Perryville prison. Thanks to Katie Woodward, who heads this ministry, along with a good number of parishioners who have been preparing for many months to screen and help the family members get ready to visit their loved ones. This year, we have seven buses ready to go this coming Friday. We will give a report next Sunday at the Masses and invite parishioners to help support the ministry with an offering in envelopes to help cover the expenses of this great outreach.  

Next Sunday is Mother’s Day, and our parish will welcome all Mothers and have a special blessing for them.
