Dear Friends,
Our parish community is able to participate in the mission of Jesus Christ through the many parishioners who understand their baptismal call to serve. Service can involve serving the parish community at liturgy, formation, hospitality, outreach, and giving. Service not only happens within the parish, but it also extends to the community at large. It means we serve all people whether they are Catholic or not.
Our Parish Leadership desires to gather all ministers to celebrate and honor the many ways people serve the Lord and his people. This year with Easter falling later than usual, we will be having our Ministry Appreciation Celebration on Super Bowl Weekend. In the past, we celebrated this occasion in May, but we would miss celebrating with many of our ministers. On Saturday evening, February 8, we are inviting parishioners who have served the parish or in the greater community to gather for Mass at 4:30 pm and then join us for dinner and entertainment in the patio area in front of the House of Mercy. It is a Super Bowl-themed party.
Again, whether you have served the parish and/or the greater community you are invited to attend. Meet more parishioners, eat good food, and your friends are invited as well. We ask you to RSVP by calling the Parish Office and letting us know how many in your party will be attending. We will continue to give you more information before February 8. Mark your calendars!
A reminder that our last Mass on Super Bowl Sunday will be 12:30 pm. There will be no 5:00 pm Mass that Sunday. Attendance is so much better on that day at 12:30 pm and we have done this for more than 25 years so it is no surprise.
Hope many parishioners come and celebrate with us.
Peace in Christ,
Fr. Eric
