First Down with Fr. Eric (December 8, 2024)

Posted on: Dec 08, 2024

Dear Friends,

During the holiday season, people are searching for ways to care for their neighbors. All types of groups like to gather families together to do assembly service projects; putting packages, boxes, or bags together to go toward those in need. At St. Patrick, we are inviting everyone to consider gathering to help assemble 4,000 bags of compassion to be used by parishioners and all who will be attending our Christmas Masses.

On Monday, December 9 at 6:30 pm in the church, we will gather for an Advent presentation welcoming Rev. Rock Fremont. He will be speaking about ways we encounter Christ in those who are sometimes invisible to people. I have known Rock for many years and have served with him on committees that serve those in need. After his presentation, we will have an assembly line to put the bags of compassion together. Thanks to the many parishioners who donated supplies, we will have plenty to give out. We will also provide information on how to approach people safely, and what are practical ways to help people. The bags will be blessed at our Christmas Masses and handed out after all Masses. This project goes well with our theme, I WILL LOOK TWICE UNTIL I SEE CHRIST IN YOU. I hope parishioners take this opportunity for a special evening to directly help those most in need of love and support.

December 9 is recognized as a Holy Day and there will be two Masses on that day at 8:00 am and 12 noon only. There will be no evening Mass as we will gather for this important Advent presentation.

Peace in Christ,

Fr. Eric
