Awakening and Transformation

Posted on: Dec 18, 2022

“Awakening always starts from the heart. The mind may experience insights but, unless this leads to the awakening of the heart, insights will never be truly transformational….

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything -
That’s how the light gets in.”

      (From the book, Oneing)

Life can be an ongoing transformational process. If we let it. Fear can lead many of us to turn away or reject an opportunity during our life journey. I ask myself how many times have I had an insight about something only to let it just drift away. Or, how many times has somebody encouraged me to take the next step towards something only to reject it for fear of failure. Have I tried to seal the cracks because of self-protection or skepticism rather than allow the light to shine through?

Transformation begins when cracks aren’t sealed and we expose our heart to remain open to growth and understanding. I told myself long ago to stop trying to map things out so that things can be perfect. The unforeseen always got in the way of that vision. It just sets oneself up for failure or disappointments.

God had one plan. Joseph had another. It’s not just about making decisions for myself. But how does that decision to say "yes" or "no" affect others around me? In making life decisions, I always have to remember Emmanuel. God is with us all. All of the time.

May everyone have a blessed Christmas and peaceful 2023!
